Van Tanner, PA-C

Hematology Oncology

Biography

Van Tanner, PA-C, is physician assistant experienced in oncology and internal medicine. His professional interests include symptoms management.

He was inspired by his paternal grandfather, a rural farmer who dreamed of being a doctor and helped others during the 1918 influenza pandemic, to pursue a medical career. Respectful and compassionate, he believes everyone has value and something to teach him. He is passionate about helping patients with day-to-day medical concerns as well as social and psychological needs.

Outside of work, he volunteers with the Orange County Literacy Council. Married with a grown son, he enjoys photography, reading, kayaking, cooking, gardening, woodworking, home projects and traveling.

“I try to help patients see that although I will never completely know their individual situations, my years as a PA have given me an understanding and empathy for their struggle and a sense of appreciation and respect for their strength and courage.” – Van Tanner, PA-C
