Taye Gonfa, MD, is a Hospitalist* board certified in family medicine who speaks English, Amharic and Oromo.
Originally from Ethiopia, he first enrolled in a medical-track program during high school. After crossing the border into Kenya, he spent 8 years in a refugee camp where he volunteered in the infirmary and with Doctors Without Borders. Passionate about the power of medicine, he was able to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor after coming to the United States and settling in Greensboro.
Compassionate, patient and respectful, he is dedicated to striving to live up to patients’ expectations because they have entrusted him when it matters most.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, watching and playing soccer and running.
