Shannon Banks, MD, is board certified in family medicine.

After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University, she received her medical degree from East Carolina University. She then went on to complete her residency at Vidant Medical Center. It was here where she learned the true purpose of her calling – to help people understand and try to improve their overall health.

As an open and honest communicator, she strives to create a working plan for her patients that fit their lifestyle. She takes time to understand her patients and make them feel comfortable with speaking to her about their health concerns.

In her spare time, she primarily enjoys spending her time traveling and eating! However, she does exercise the creativity of her mind by painting and working on art projects for those close to her.

“I strive to create a health care plan for patients that fits their lifestyle.” – Shannon Banks, MD

this was my first visit with Dr. Banks after looking for a new Primary Care physician. I was underwhelmed. we just didn't seem to connect or click.

I'm very pleased with Dr Banks. She is polite, respectful and knowledgeable. Listens to my concerns and has suggestions.

The thing that bothered me about this visit was that I told Dr Banks that I had a really sore throat. She prescribed a nasal spray and did not even come back in to tell me her reasoning for this. I hoped to get something for my sore throat... Nasal spray doesn't help that and if it does I would have liked to have had a conversation about how.

Dr. Banks is professional, kind, and has an excellent nurse (Torrie)! I really enjoyed coming to see both of them and plan to keep Dr. Banks as my PCP. I'm so glad she's part of the LeBauer team because I've really missed Dr. Yoo.

Dr. Banks was wonderful. She helped me fill out some paperwork that I needed done by a medical professional. She was very respectful and I enjoyed my time with her. I knew that this would be the case since my mother had referred me to her. All staff members were welcoming and efficient. I was pleased with my experience.
