Biography

Shannon Banks, MD, is board certified in family medicine.

After completing her bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University, she received her medical degree from East Carolina University. She then went on to complete her residency at Vidant Medical Center. It was here where she learned the true purpose of her calling – to help people understand and try to improve their overall health.

As an open and honest communicator, she strives to create a working plan for her patients that fit their lifestyle. She takes time to understand her patients and make them feel comfortable with speaking to her about their health concerns.

In her spare time, she primarily enjoys spending her time traveling and eating! However, she does exercise the creativity of her mind by painting and working on art projects for those close to her.

“I strive to create a health care plan for patients that fits their lifestyle.” – Shannon Banks, MD

my provider literally laughed in my face while telling me i should've seen someone else at another practice. i was literally in so much pain i was wailing as she was laughing telling me she didnt understand why i made the appointment in the 1st place as if i was trained in the medical field in any way. i needed help. and she literally dusted her hands in front of me and told me she couldnt help me in ANY way. she literally didnt spend 5 minutes in the room with me.

I visited Dr. Banks as a new patient, and I am glad I did. I was looking for a new primary care physician in Greensboro, and Dr. Banks was knowledgeable and personable. I look forward to working with her in the years to come, and I have recommended her to others.
