Board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Olu Jegede, MD, MHA, serves as Area Medical Director for Cone Health Medical Group (CHMG). In this role he coordinates the delivery of optimal medical care across primary and specialty care departments.
With a special interest in medical education and research, he is involved in a partnership with North Carolina A&T University to identify a diabetic nephropathy biomarker among African American males and other research activities in conjunction with the NIMHD-sponsored Men’s Minority Health Initiative.
He serves on the North Carolina Council on Sickle Cell Syndrome and Minority Health Advisory Council and other organizations seeking to improve the quality of health of marginalized populations, including the Cone Health Physician Council for Health Equity.
In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling and spending quality time with his family.
