Board certified in adult-gerontology as a primary care nurse practitioner, Lauren Kennedy, DNP, AGPCNP-BC, has a doctor of nursing practice degree. Professional yet personable, she specializes in adult and geriatric medicine for patients 13 years and older.
She completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her doctor of nursing practice degree is from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kennedy’s passion for healthcare started early in life with her desire to help and serve people. A high school healthcare career exploration program with a local hospital inspired her to pursue nursing. As a certified critical care nurse, she learned the value of preventing and managing chronic illness to hopefully avoid hospitalizations. Along the way, her passion for healthcare has grown into a philosophy of meeting people where they are to help them care for themselves to the best of their ability.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking healthy and delicious meals for her family and crafting.
“My relationship with patients is a balance of professional and personal. There is a job to be done and a health concern to be addressed, but there is a person in front of me who has a life with other responsibilities. Both are important to address when achieving healthcare goals.” - Lauren Kennedy, DNP, AGPCNP-BC
