Kathryn Kooistra, CNM, is a board-certified nurse midwife. Her professional interests include midwifery and post-partum care, gynecology and contraceptive management, and treating transgender and non-binary patients. She speaks English and Spanish.
Impacted by her global health experiences, she has an open heart, attends to personal bias and is mindful of systemic oppression. She hopes to make change in the world one person at a time.
Non-judgmental, caring and empathetic, she partners with people of all ages and values being their advocate, friend and confidante. By building trusting relationships with her patients, listening to them, bonding with them, and ultimately, validating their concerns, she can help her patients improve their overall health.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling to Nicaragua, volunteering with Midwives for Haiti and her children’s school, and supporting her entrepreneur husband.
“Social justice and social change cannot occur without reproductive justice.” – Kathryn Kooistra, CNM
