Biography

Dr. Olu Jegede joined Cone Health in July 2014 as the medical director of Cone Health Community Health and Wellness Center. In addition to his oversight at the center, he has been instrumental in establishing the Cone Health Transitional Care Clinic designed to manage patients’ medical needs within the first 30 days of discharge from the hospital. Olu Jegede holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and recently earned the Certified Physician Executive designation from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.

Areas of Interest

He is a champion of delivering quality care and has a special interest in medical education and research. He is involved in an ongoing research partnership with North Carolina A&T University to identify a “biomarker for diabetic nephropathy among African American males”.
